The National Identification Authority (NIA) and National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) are collaborating to register Ghanaian children aged 6-14 years, and it's completely free! This initiative starts today, October 7, 2024, and will run every weekday from 8:00 am at schools within local districts .
Why Register Your Child?

Required Documents
To register your child, you'll need one of the following:
- Original Birth Certificate
- Valid Ghanaian Passport
- If neither is available, a _parent, relative, or legal guardian_ can vouch for the child under oath
- For children without relatives, _two social welfare officers_ can vouch for them ¹
Additionally, bring your child's _NHIS card_ or _NHIS number_ to ensure their health records are up-to-date and integrated with the national ID system.

Registration takes place at schools within your district, starting today, October 7, 2024, every weekday from 8:00 am.
NOTE
Parents must bring their children NHIS card or number for data harmonization!
