NIA In Collaboration be With NHIA Begins Registration Of Ghanaians Aged 6-14 Years

The National Identification Authority (NIA) and National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) are collaborating to register Ghanaian children aged 6-14 years, and it's completely free! This initiative starts today, October 7, 2024, and will run every weekday from 8:00 am at schools within local districts .

Why Register Your Child?

Registering your child ensures they're properly identified and recorded in the national database, making it easier for them to access essential public services like healthcare, education, and social welfare ¹.

Required Documents

To register your child, you'll need one of the following:

- Original Birth Certificate

- Valid Ghanaian Passport

- If neither is available, a _parent, relative, or legal guardian_ can vouch for the child under oath

- For children without relatives, _two social welfare officers_ can vouch for them ¹

Additionally, bring your child's _NHIS card_ or _NHIS number_ to ensure their health records are up-to-date and integrated with the national ID system.

Registration Locations and Time

Registration takes place at schools within your district, starting today, October 7, 2024, every weekday from 8:00 am.

NOTE

Parents must bring their children NHIS card or number for data harmonization!
